We are a family owned business founded by Wayne and Paige Miller and their daughters, Brittney and Briana. Established in 1996, Wayne’s Country Fresh Meats began providing local and quality beef, pork, and chicken products to the Mineral County residents and surrounding areas.

Wayne was raised in Keyser, WV. and grew up working on the family farm. As a young adult, he began his career in the meat business while learning the processing skills at a local market. The customer interactions, meat industry, and the nature of the work, sparked his interest in owning his own meat business. His dream of providing high quality meats, superior customer service, and jobs for the local community, became his passion.

After the successful opening and establishment of the original store located in Keyser, the business began growing at a healthy pace. At the time, Wayne was supplying the store with his own beef and purchasing from other local farmers and suppliers. To keep up with demand, Wayne began expanding the cattle farm with the purchase of additional farms to increase the cow/calf operation as this would allow more land for grazing, hay making, barns, feed lots and water supply.

In 2008, the family along with new son-in-law Bruce Harrison, opened a second store located in Fort Ashby, WV. The Fort Ashby Wayne’s was a new experience and challenge for the family as the product lines of grocery, dairy, deli, frozen, produce, bakery, homemade salads, and bulk candies were increased to a full grocery store scale. Today, both locations continue to experience success and a loyal following as the two locations maintain their constant focus on their customers, products, and services.

Wayne and family have always strived to provide quality and trusted meats and other products, along with friendly “hometown” service to the community and surrounding areas. Through the years, our customers and employees have become good friends and more like an extended family to us. We appreciate the long-time support of our community for our local, family owned business. We look forward to continuing to serve our community, friends, and neighbors.
